better still has been the wind here this summer. it just keeps on blowing.

NEW NEWS
Hi Blog
Just to let you know, i am now living in Dahab, Egypt. Danielle and I have a nice flat with sea veiws of the lagoon (no excusses to miss the wind).
We will be offering for windsurfers Private tuition, group tuition, clinics for any age and ability from beginner to Advanceced from freestyle to waves.
Danielle can also arrange female only (if interested)windsurf groups / clinics /private tuition
and a photography service.
Although we are living in Dahab we are free and availible to travil around the Sinai to other destinations such as...... El Tur and Moon Beach.

this is a freestyle competition in el tur egypt attracting some of the best windsurfers in the contry.

Winds back
so the wind is back full power, i have spent most of my time clinging on to my smallest sail 3.7m. even that feels to big at times but its still really good fun. we managed to have a bit of a photo session over by the mosque beach in el tur. danielle got some really nice shots of me doing some culos. had some nice wave beach action too. the starboard tack jumping is feeling a little strange after spending the winter in cape towns port tack conditions but i am feeling better each time i head up the wave beach. wind looks quieter after today but comes back again next week at a more manageable speed :)

Wave Beach!
So we went to the wave beach, was 4.3m weather for me. although it was smallish we had some good sets come through now and again, It was nice to get out in the starbord tack conditions.

its been windy in el tur
currently trying to capture all the new moves on film.
been working hard on culos and airbobs but it seems these moves are a little camera shy at the moment, not worried will have some nailed on film soon. and inching closer to those spock culo combo move

busy times
title says it all really :)
its good to be busy and we have had some epic conditions too.
the week has been full power anything from 30 to 45 knots. even my smallest sail 3.7 were feeling over powered. might have to purchace a 3.3 :)
having said that the kit has been fantastic. the starboard flare 88 is performing well as are my severne S1's. i have a smaller board this year and its made a huge difference to my sailing especially the more powerfull moves and stronger winds.
been nailing a few more culos and have now started to try spock culos. they feel close but are still agonizingly just out of reach. i have a beer bet on nailing them soon so its going to be my move to work on for now.
unfortunatly have had no chance of pictures as we have been far to busy to spare a photographer but will hopefully get some quality photos and vids soon.

first week back in Egypt
First week Back in El Tur has gone smoothly.
Very busy this time of season and we are expecting lots of groups and clinics in the next 2 months.
Talking about clinics. running my 2nd this week. the guys on the clinic with me are doing well and we are having fun on the water.
the wind is in an odd direction this week and is from the south.
this makes the bayreally choppy (quite similer to cape town lake conditions)
yesterday wasfull power 4.7 on my brand new severne S1. should really of been on a 4.3 but held on :)
really good session with big shakas,kulos and kono.
the rst of the week is forecast similer direction 5.3 to 4.7 weather before switching back to the normal north west direction on tues & weds, its looking strong too.
fingers crossed for a classic el tur habibi beach wave session.

So we have been here in Cape Town for just over 2 weeks now,
the wind has been great as have the waves. We have also managed to get in a fair bit of freestyle too.
We had some sessions north of Cape Town also, twice in Langeban for some freestyle action and surprisingly on the second day we managed to score some waves their also.
Though my favourite session yet..... was just a few days ago at a spot called "Patanosta."
The waves here were ranging from waist high to well above head high and although it was not the biggest wave they were nicely formed had a good bit of power to them and at times just seemed to go on and on. the wind was cross off from the port tack with most people on 4.5m to 4.0 making riding perfect.
Im told this spot does not work often but im hopeing it does again.

CAPETOWN!!!
we have been here a week now
had 3 days on the water, lots of freestyling at the lake and wave sailing in sunsets,bigbay and hakkgat. the wind has been very strong we are on 4.7's down to 3.7 often and the waves are nice and big.
im a bit out of practice but getting better
